MARVEL Avengers Academy is the opposite of most comic book games: the action is only spoken, and all of your interactions are based around a few clicks. Put simply, it’s fun to play with youthful version of your favorite characters from the Marvel Universe. If you don’t go in expecting action, MARVEL Avengers Academy is a successful game thanks to its framework and setting. In fact, all it really adds to the formula are the comic book heroes.
MARVEL Avengers Academy’s game system will look familiar if you've previously played any game that combines construction and resource management.
Missions play out automatically, and only really serve to gather you more resources to charge superpowers – think The Simpsons: Tapped Out, but swap Homer and Lisa for Iron Man and Captain America. Do not get too excited though: this is no action game like MARVEL Heroes. You then train them up and send them on missions based on the Marvel movies. The adventure game elements of MARVEL Avengers Academy have you recruit heroes.
